This pipe can be considered a half-bent acorn chimney. It is carved from Corsican briar with a very narrow and tall bowl. It is a very unique shape, and is uncommon to find on the market. The pipe features some great birds eye on the left and right side of the stummel. Pibe dan reformed pipes are designed so the bowl is vertical even when it hangs out of the mouth at an angle. Pibe Dan was open from 1943-1991. Gert Holbek designed pipes for Pibe Dan, and he wa s the creator of this pipe. He was known to be the oldest active pipe maker and began carving pipes in 1953 . His name is inscribed on the bottom of the stummel as can be seen in the photos. This pipe has minimal rim dark en ing and is in great condition . The stem is in g ood condition with only o ne small ind en t from teeth chatter on top of the stem. The shipping cost includes shipping insurance for this item.
