Description Early KAYWOODIE Super Grain 01 Woodstock/Yacht, c1939-52 Gorgeous Grain, Grecian Briar 4-Hole Stinger, Very Near Mint Offering a super attractive Kaywoodie Super Grain . It's an 01 shape, which is a mid-size Yacht or Woodstock, which I find to be a cool profile. The pipe has the 4-hole stinger, and two digit shape, which makes it start at 1938, and pre-1953 era. The bowl on the Super Grain is made of Grecian briar, and shows off a gorgeous mix of grain patterns, in a virgin golden-tan color. The rich color and nice condition make it look very fresh. The pipe is in very near mint condition, and I don’t see any wear to note on the exterior of bowl or stem, only slight wear to inner bowl rim. The inside of the bowl is nicely seasoned, very thin even cake; It should smoke well early on. The stem is original, in a taper cut, with no tooth wear, lines up well to the bowl. It has a 4-hole stinger. Pipe weighs about .85 ounces, draw hole is at bottom center and draws easy. Based on the shape and stinger, the pipe was made between 1939 and 1952 approximately, so the briar is nicely seasoned from age, plus from use. Freshly polished, and is ready to smoke!
