This Dunhill tan shell billiard is a great example of the beauty and quality that has been consistent from the pipe maker in London. The ebonite stem features the famous white dot on top as well as the fishtail design. The size 3 briar stummel is sandblasted in Dunhill’s tan shell style. The stem has some evidence of teeth chatter, but the indents are very minor. The bowl has been repaired with a band due to a previous crack. I received this pipe in an auction, and did not perform this repair. I have taken photos to show the crack internally and externally. I have since sealed up the crack internall y so you will be abl e to smoke it with no leaks. There is als o rim darkening present. The number after England is unclear, so I cannot accurately date this pipe. All pipes restored by Danish Estates are sanitized as a first and last step. The chamber of the pipe is reamed down to the briar. The pipe undergoes a treatment to remove potential ghosting. Then necessary re pa irs and restoration are completed.
