Offering a vintage Dr Grabow "Viking" chubby apple shape aluminum shank Pipe w/ straight push-in stem Color: tan brown briar bowl, silver chrome shank, w/ black stem Style: Apple shaped removable briar, w/ short push-in stem Weight: Medium Weight ~ 1.9 ozs Measurements: 6" long; 1.7" tall; 1.25" wide outer edge of round bowl Bid with confidence, this pipe has a little char on the bowl, hard-to-find chromed aluminum radiator shank, w/ some pitting showing usual wear, and minor chatter on bottom of the stem. This Viking briar pipe has a screw on bowl, and is engraved "Viking" and "Dr Grabow USA" on the bottom of the shank, and it has a straight radiator-style metal shank & a short stem w/ spade logo on the side. Dr. Grabow Viking pipes are aluminum pipes with wooden bowls. They are similar in design to the Falcon brand, so much so that Falcon won a lawsuit against Grabow. When the multi-finned chrome plated design came out, it was no longer a copy of Falcon. Viking pipes use one thread for their bowls unlike Falcon which uses four. The cooling fins help collect and dissipate the moisture & tar from smoking and reduces bite to almost nothing. For yourself or for the avid pipe enthusiast!
