Description
This is a Comoy's Specimen Straight Grain (126) Smooth Pot shape. This pipe boasts a bowl surrounded with gorgeous straight grain while the rim is dominated by birdseye. It's a beauty all right, but sadly, it is missing its original stem. OMG...NO! Yep, but if it helps any, I must say the replacement stem is great. Chamber looks fine and the draw is great. Further, the well centered draft hole opens flush with the bottom of the bowl...and, a pipe cleaner will pass through the entire pipe. The pipe is also a solid sitter, allowing it to be placed on a desk or table with the bit well above any surface. It is a lovely pipe, and my guess is that it's also an incredible smoker. I mean, let's face it, someone smoked the original stem right off a this bad boy. Seriously, it's a beautiful reminder of the golden age of pipe making and it will perform just like new. In spite of the replacement stem, it deserves to have a home. It will serve its new owner well for another 90 years or so...guaranteed!
