Description

For sale is this absolutely stunning Charatan's Make Distinction estate pipe in terrific condition. The stummel is a smooth briar with a gorgeous grain and finish. It has a rusticated scalloped rim. Stamped on the side of the shank is "Made by Hand" on one side and "Charatan's Make London, England Distinction" on the other side (see photos). The stem is stamped with Charatan's signature "CP" (see photos). The interior of the chamber and shank have been cleaned thoroughly, and the exterior briar received some mineral oil and polished with a cloth. The vulcanite stem was wet sanded with multiple fine-grit sandpapers and received multiple pipe cleaner swipe-throughs of Everclear until the pipe cleaners came through clean. The stem was finished with mineral oil as well and polished with a cloth. Virtually no chatter marks on the stem. Additionlly, no Murphy's Oil Soap was used. This large pipe is a total stunner and is ready to smoke! There is some lingering tobacco smell, as cannot be avoided.
